Community Hardship Fund

In partnership with the Community Bank Warrandyte, our club has established a Community Hardship Fund to support Sharks families who are experiencing financial and personal hardship.

As a community sporting club, we have a strong focus on the welfare of our players and their families and believe that no child should miss out on playing junior football due to difficult circumstances.

Nominations can be made either directly or by someone close to the family by sending an email to president@sharksjfc.org.au. All nominations are treated confidentially and support is determined by a trusted panel of 3 people and not shared any wider.

The Community Hardship Fund has already supported the Sharks community over the Summer. If you would like more information, please contact president@sharksjfc.org.au.

Volunteering and Working With Children Checks

Enormous thanks to all volunteers and families who attended the practice matches before Easter. We all got an exciting taste of what’s to come ahead of Round 1 which kicks off on the 14th of April – less than 2 weeks away!

To help keep our children safe, all volunteers are asked to supply a Working With Children Check. YJFL is using a program called Ratify to capture information this year.

Of course, we can’t operate without the help of volunteers but spoiler alert .. this task is not the most fun part of volunteering. It is necessary though.

What to do:-

  1. If not yet done, volunteers to send their name, email address and the name of the team they’re helping to Ratify@sharksjfc.org.au
  2. Follow the directions in the email you then receive from Ratifyme
  3. If you don’t already have a WWCC, allow a couple of weeks to receive it
  4. Look forward to Round 1 and let your kids know you’re doing your bit for their footy fun!

If you have any questions or need help navigating the software, please email Ratify@sharksjfc.org.au (note: desktop or browser may be easier to navigate than the mobile app).

Lastly, don’t forget we have our Family Season Launch Event on the 14th of April at Domeney. This will run from 5pm until 8pm with fun planned for the whole family with inflatable rides, food vans booked and the bar open.

Kind Regards,

Sharks Committee

YJFL Blood Drive

A fantastic initiative to announce at this time of the year is YJFL’s Blood Drive which we’ll be taking part in.

When we come together, we can make a real impact and by supporting this initiative we can also save lives.

YJFL will be sharing how we tally up against other clubs in the league in the weeks ahead.
