Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Hello Sharks Community,

We are excited to announce that our club has secured a Mental Health First Aid Grant, enabling us to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid Training to our community.

Both Kate Gniel, our former Club President, and I had the opportunity to attend this training last year. We found it to be incredibly empowering, informative, and beneficial—not just for supporting our Junior Football Community, but also for our family and friends. The skills and knowledge gained are versatile and can be applied in work environments, other volunteer spaces, and personal situations.

We have SEVEN spots available for this training, with the possibility of extending attendance based on interest levels. No Cost to you to attend the course.

The training will be held for one evening at:

Domeney Club Rooms on Wednesday, 19th June

6pm Start

Snacks provided

Additionally, there is an online component that you need to complete at your own pace.

For more details on the course, you can visit [Mental Health First Aid Australia Courses https://richmondinstitute.com.au/our-courses/mental-health-first-aid-australia-courses/

Much like traditional First Aid, Mental Health First Aid is crucial for ensuring we can support our community effectively.

If you are interested in participating, please reply to this email Welfare@sharksjfc.org.au to secure your spot.

We need confirmed numbers by Tuesday 11th June 4pm.

Kind Regards

Ingrid Ross
