President’s Letter: Finals Week 2

Hi All Sharks,

Whilst a large number of our members have now finished season 2019, a few teams still remain in Finals.

I’ve been receiving the results of B.F votes countered and the likely recipients of awards. Oh boy, presentation day looks like a lot of tables will be filled with medals and trophies.

Please, I encourage as many of our families as possible to be on hand Sunday 15th for our awards ceremonies.

Preliminary Finals Results

Well done to our U14 Red boys, coached by Nathan Tovey, on a hotly contested game. We started well and had Fitzroy wondering what was happening at half time. Unfortunately, they proved to strong on the day and we went down by a few goals. So proud of all your efforts, what a great group of young men you are. Next year looks really promising.

Congratulations to out U12 girls, coached by Jason Dove, who fought out a terrific final to win by 2 points. You will now join our U15s, U16 Girls, and Colts Red this Sunday in the Grand Finals.

Grand Finals – This Sunday 1st September

U12 Girls vs Cabtebury at 11.00am at Greythorn Park, Balwyn North
U16 Girls vs Kew Comets at 2.45pm at Doncaster Park (Leeds St) Doncaster East
U15 Reds vs Doncaster at 2.45pm at Gordon Barnard Res – Upper – Balwyn North
Colt Red vs Ivanhoe at 2.45pm at Gordon Barnard Res – Lower – Balwyn North

On behalf of the committee, parents and players we wish these four teams all the best for Sunday. We know these matches will be tough, intense affairs and so we are calling on one and all to come along and support the teams. Please try to find a few hours to show the Sharks spirit and be there to barrack and cheer our players to victory.

Summary

Thank you for your support and assistance in season 2019. I look forward to meeting up on Presentation Day 15th September

Stay safe and go Sharks!!
