I can feel the excitement as finally the season proper is HERE! Best of luck to all teams this Sunday with the launch of the 2016 season. Congratulations to one and all for getting out onto the park and having a go.
Round 1
This Sunday will see 18 mighty teams from the PONRPJFC pull on the boots in earnest.
Thanks to all Committee, Coaches, Team managers and support personnel for getting the players to the starting blocks. Magnificent effort one and all.
Now, players it is up to you all to have fun, compete hard and enjoy being with your fellow team mates. Our very best to the upper age Colts in their final year at the junior club, let’s get off to a flyer guys.

Burger Night
At the completion of Sundays’ matches I look forward to seeing you all from 5.30pm back at Domeney – The Shark Tank. Sorry for the confusion Team Managers but confirming U13’s are on duty.
We have a jumping castle for the younger members & loads of fun for all.
Once we all have had food & drinks, we’ll invite all inside for the raffle and the announcement of this year’s Club Captain and Vice Captain. What a tough and close decision it has been from an excellent group of young men nominated for our consideration.
Kinglake practice match
It seems a while ago that we toured up the highway for our first practice hit out. Once again thanks for all who attended. Our club’s efforts helped to raise in excess of $3,000 on the day.
Since the fires 7 years ago this club has built a great unity with Kinglake. Our efforts have helped the football & netball clubs to be funded for the year. Without our assistance they may not be able to field their juniors. I’m pleased to announce this year they have three junior teams competing.

Auskick
The first Auskick clinic kicks off tomorrow, Saturday 16th at 9:00am. And this year we are back at our traditional Auskick home at Stintons Reserve. I’m looking forward to seeing all of our Auskickers running out on the park and having heaps of fun. And all Auskick familes are welcome to attend the Burger Night on Sunday as well and enjoy the jumping castle and other activities, and soak up the atmosphere of the junior club.

Guest Player – 3 time AFL Premiership player & Brownlow Medallist
Jason Akermanis
The Seniors play on ANZAC weekend at home against Ringwood. The Sharks have secured the services of none other than the great AFL champ Jason Akermanis to attend for the day and also to play for the seniors at 2.00pm.
He will be on hand to meet our junior players that are in attendance from 11.00am until approx 12.30.
All are welcome at Domeney to join in. The chance to have your photo, grab an autograph or just ask questions of Aker before he goes out to play is available for all ages.
Other activities include face painting etc…
Our Under 8’s will play a grid game at half time of the Reserves at approx 1.00pm.
They will then run out with the seniors to form a guard of honour for the Ode & Last Post.
Look forward to seeing you there to support the seniors.
