President’s Message: Pre-Season 2015 2

Hi All Sharks

Things are on the move at the junior in Season 2015, with our call to arms being answered in a big way. Memberships have hit 200+ and we are well on our way to the yearly average of about 400+, thanks for getting or coming back on board

Registrations Open!

To those of you who were unable to make our Registration Day last Sunday, don’t worry you can do it all on line. The registration portal is open and available via the Sharks webpage at sharksjfc.org.au/members/registration. Just click on and follow the prompts.

Consent, Code of Conduct and Medical Form

Every player registering with the Sharks for Season 2015 – new or returning – is required to complete this form prior to season commencement. It is repetitive in its nature for a reason, the Team Managers retain the Medical section and the Committee the Consent and Code of Conduct.

All parents and players are encourage to familiarise themselves with the content, and then complete and sign this form to your Team Manager prior to Round 1. The forms are available from our website sharksjfc.org.au/members/registration.

AusKick – Is On In 2015!

As mentioned in my last message, Manningham City Council will be conducting resurfacing works at Stintons Reserve commencing in March 2015. These works are going to occur throughout the football season, displacing both the Sharks Junior Football Clun and our AusKick.

The Sharks committee are currently working with Council and other community contacts to identify a readymade solution and I hope to know further in the coming week. So spread the news and until then watch the space for AusKick Registration Day, its coming!!!

Mouthguard Fittings!

Our resident Dental Guru is back are ready to provide your child with a professionally fitted mouthguard and a discount price – $85.00. The fitting will occur as follows:

Location: Domeney Reserve Home Change Rooms

Prior to attending, please ensure you complete a Mouthguard Order Form and have payment ready on the day. If you can’t make it on this day and time, give Gary a call to make alternate arrangements.

Merchandise

Basic and New merchandise items will be available for purchase at Mouthguard Fitting Day or directly through Nina Foxwell, our Merchandise Manager. Online ordering of merchandise is temporarily unavailable.

Training

Whilst some of our more Senior teams have or are looking to commence training in the coming weeks, I would not expect are more junior teams to start training until a couple of weeks prior to our first practice matches on 22 March 2015. Each teams Coach or Team Manager will be in contact with you in due course, so please contain that enthusiasm, things will kick off soon.

New Rules – Under 8, 9, 10

Season 2015 will see a shift in rules for these age groups. There are slight difference to each, with the most contentious being the ‘no tackling’ rule. The new rules are available on the Sharks webpage under the Members/Rules tab. I invite you all to have a read and wish to assure you that the club will provide you with appropriate information leading up to and throughout the season. So much so we have appointed Matt Fason to the role of Under Age Ambassador. Matt will take the lead on these issues and be available to answer all questions.

Conclusion

I will continue to sending out regular messages over the coming weeks, but if you have any queries please don’t hesitate to give me a call. I encourage you to visit our website as there is a wealth of information to guide you through.

Go Sharks!
